problem using a “online editor

  • Have a “local” install of Wp2.0.3. I added the following <p style=”color:ff0000″>Some red Text(closing tag ) which did what is supposed to. However the code is then repeated on the next line and so a much bigger amount of text is colored red.

I fire up a “online” editor, remove the extra code, save the file, close the editor and the next time I do 127.0.0.1/wordpress it is still therei.e.the extra red text and of course if I do a “view source” the extra code.
    How to solve?

  • If you use your own code – never use the wysiwyg editor.

Edit the post itself and remove the offending extra line from your post.

Turning off the visual rich editor in WordPress’s Users screen might help you edit the post content a bit easier.

I have unchecked “use the visual rich editor”. No help.Doing F5’s or clicking the refresh icon show the same result

arn213: Just disabling the editor isn’t the fix.

Go find the actual POST that’s causing the problem, and edit it. Remove the extra P tag you were talking about. Go to the Manage menu on the WordPress dashboard. Select the Posts submenu. Next to the post with the problem, select “Edit”. Edit the post.

    Thanks Otto42, it worked.
