# Problem uploading

 * hi all! i am getting frustrated with my site. i think i have 3.0 but cannot upload
   images or pdfs. it allows me to select browse and find my find and hit open, 
   but then goes blank and nothing uploads.
 * our site is only updated periodically and i haven’t had any success in uploading
   files since the end of december. please excuse my ignorance as i didn’t set up
   the site, i’ve inherited it.
 * any help you can provide would be great!

 * Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still
   have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions
   on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

 * thanks for the reply – i haven’t had any success in changing the file permissions.
   and, i’m not 100% sure i’m doing it correctly through the control panel?
    any
   other recommendations?

 * not good! i did this and now have no site at all!!! 500 internal server error.
   please help!
