Problem upgradng to PHP 7.4

    I’ve just upgraded from PHP7.3 to 7.4 in iPage.

    The site is displaying fine, but there seems to be an error with Jetpack. There is a really long error message starting:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function ctype_digit()….

    I thought Ctype extensions had been enabled ages ago by default in earlier versions of PHP. Is this something I can fix myself, or do I need to contact tech support?

    BTW I’m definitely not a techie!

    Hey there, I’d double check to be sure the ctype extension is enabled and working properly on your server. Can you check in with your host on that?

    I had this with ipage a couple of weeks ago and logged it on here

    I have been checking every day or two by going onto their PHP maintenance facility and setting it to 7.4 and as of today it still isn’t working so need to set it back to 7.3 for Jetpack to work

    The Help Desk wasn’t very helpful at ipage either. They promised to scehedule it for an update but wouldn’t commit to a date

    @golly72 It sounds like you may need to stick with 7.3 until iPage has implemented the ctype extension in PHP7.4
