# problem upgrading to 2.8.4

 * Today I attempted to upgrade WordPress on my comic site (hosted by Godaddy). 
   As per the instructions, I deleted and re-uploaded the wp-includes and admin 
   folders, as well as replacing all the wp-content files.
 * When I tried to log in to my admin page, I saw:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined
   function: cpm_wpmu_modify_path() in /home/content/r/e/c/recoveringmale/html/wp-
   content/plugins/comicpress-manager/comicpress_manager_library.php on line 85
 * Following the 3-step instructions for upgrading WordPress, I thought this would
   work. But as I don’t really understand how any of it works, I don’t know where
   to look to fix the problem, and now cannot access the Dashboard at all. Any help
   is appreciated.

 * Might need to use this to deactivate all plugins, [How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
 * Then clear your browser cache and try to login.

 * His comicpress manager is trying to think it’s using WPMU if he IS using wpmu
   he needs the WPMU Mu-plugin that only I have available and needs to request a
   copy of it in an email to me.
 * If he’s *not* using wpmu he needs to upgrade to 1.4.7 of comicpress manager.
 * The only reason that error would come up if global $wpmu_version is not empty.
