# Problem Upgrading to 2.3.1

 * I’ve been trying for days to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress – 2.3.1
   and when I go to Step 3: Upgrade Your Installation – [http://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php](http://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php)
 * I receive a 404 error. But! If I just go to the admin login of whichever site,
   it says I am running 2.3.1 and so far everything seems fine, except that I cannot
   upgrade my installation…
 * Any words of wisdom on this matter?

 * you are upgraded
 * don’t worry about it
 * my experience is that there is no need to goto the upgrade.php as the upgrade
   is so minor it doesn’t matter
 * I am sure someone else with more knowledge can say why.
