problem upgrading plugins

    Hi, I am trying to upgrade my plugins which previously I have had no problems but now I am getting the following error ??

    Forbidden

    You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/update.php on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    has anybody got any pointers to what has gone wrong for me ??
