Support » Plugin: Simple Share Buttons Adder » Problem updating from 6.0.2 to 8.0.0

  • I am trying to update the plugin to the latest version (8.0.0), but as soon as I do that, I get the following error in the browser
There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

In the php-fpm log I see this:

[11-Sep-2020 12:53:26 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Unsupported operand types in /opt/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/simple-share-buttons-adder/php/class-database.php:335

      throwin /opt/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/simple-share-buttons-adder/php/class-database.php on line 335

I reset the testing environment before each try. Starting from the same start point, sometimes a page reload helps, other times not. Tried it in multiple clean browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).

    What could be wrong?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Can you please verify for me if you are still experiencing this issue on your end?

If so, can you please provide me with the specific URLs you are having issues with in order for me to be able to provide you with an absolute solution?

When it comes to running a local/test environment with our widget, we recommend moving the site to live production before giving it a try as there are some resources that aren’t passed during a local/test environment which is most likely the cause of this error.
