problem to create backup

HI,

When I create backup it appears some errors as:
” Warning: plugins/ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg/dist/blocks.build.js: unreadable file – could not be backed up
Warning: uploads/2017/08/adelaydi.jpg: unreadable file – could not be backed up
Warning: /home/customer/www/adelaydi.com/public_html/wp-content/uploads/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb: unreadable file – could not be backed up (check the file permissions and ownership)
Warning: uploads/2018/08/adelaydi-blouse-limys-10.jpg: unreadable file – could not be backed up
Warning: uploads/2018/09/IMG_2318.jpg: unreadable file – could not be backed up”

and

Zip size is at/near split limit (395.9 MB / 400 MB) – bumping index (from: 5) (Mar 01 00:35:15)
Table wp_icl_translate: Total expected rows (approximate): 24815 (Mar 01 00:35:30)

and it finishes like this:

The backup apparently succeeded (with warnings) and is now complete (Mar 01 00:35:33)

I suppose that it si not well done, how can i fix it?

I resolved the problem reinstalling updraft But now i have old directories I can’t remove, even from my hosting, manually
How can i do ?

UpdraftPlus – Remove old directories
Delete: plugins-old: Failed
Delete /home/customer/www/adelaydi.com/public_html/wp-content/updraft/plugins-old: Failed. Parent Directory UID=2034, GID=2034. Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2034/2034. Effective/real group IDs of the current process: 2034/2034. Delete: themes-old: Failed
Delete /home/customer/www/adelaydi.com/public_html/wp-content/updraft/themes-old: Failed. Parent Directory UID=2034, GID=2034. Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2034/2034. Effective/real group IDs of the current process: 2034/2034. Delete: uploads-old: Failed
Delete /home/customer/www/adelaydi.com/public_html/wp-content/updraft/uploads-old: Failed. Parent Directory UID=2034, GID=2034. Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2034/2034. Effective/real group IDs of the current process: 2034/2034.

Old directory removal failed for some reason. You may want to do this manually.

Hi,

It appears to be a file permission/ownership issue, meaning UpdraftPlus or WordPress does not have the correct read or write permission to a certain folder or file.

The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

Alternatively, you can remove the files directly via FTP/Cpanel File manager.

Hi Bryle,

Thank you for your reply. As i am not a developer, I prefer not following the steps from smashingmagazine. I tried to remove the files from WP/content/updraft but they can’t be removed. Can you explain to me how to remove them from FTP/cpanel file manager please or is it the same folder than wp/content/updraft?

Yes you can also delete it from cPanel file manager, navigate through wp-content folder you should see folders with -old postfix, Right click the folder and click delete.
