It should only override the authors name on one post. If you don’t mind, could you try switching themes momentarily to see if it’s the theme?
If it is, just send me the name of the theme and maybe I can see if I can figure out what is happening.
Also, try turning off caching and see if that resolves the issue. I’ll try to figure out how this is happening. There is nothing in our code that would allow the guest author name to override the author on every post.

There are no caching methods enabled at the moment.

I have a temporary domain name and your plugin works with the theme I am using! When I installed the theme’s child theme though, I faced exactly the opposite problem: Your plugin does not override the author’s name at all.
My actual website is using the child theme.
I tried to deactivate any 3rd party plugins I have installed but this didn’t make things work.
I am using a special version of Visual Composer in posts though for styling (icons, background images etc.). Maybe this is what’s causing the issue (Uncode Visual Composer).
The temporary website is not using Visual Composer in posts.

So if I understand correctly, child theme + special version of Visual Composer. The child theme shouldn’t cause an issue.
If it’s possible for you to uninstall visual composer without breaking anything, give it a try and see what happens. If everything is still broken, it’s something specific to the child theme.
You might want to get in touch with the author of the developer of the special version of Visual Composer or the child theme, and ask them to test the plugin with it. Our plugin uses standard WordPress filters. It doesn’t do anything unusual or fancy.

No problem at all! Unfortunately all the styling is thanks to that version of visual composer! It’s necessary to be enabled in order to have proper functionalities of the theme!
I will solve this issue through the creation of author accounts!

Sorry to hear that. I advise you to report it to the developers, they really should consider doing things the proper ‘WordPress’ way so that their code doesn’t break other plugins.
