Hello, I found this issue in some of our website using “GDPR Cookie Consent” with “Polylang free”.

Let’s say that in our website ITALIAN is my default language and ENGLISH is 2nd language.

Normally “Necessary” category is “Always enabled” by default and can’t be disabled. So in “Settings Popup” in frontend, user should not be able to disable “necessary” cookies. No checkbox should appear.

Once I create “Necessary” cookie category translation (Using Polylang column, in “/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=cookielawinfo-category&post_type=cookielawinfo”), necessary cookies checkbox is appearing on “SettingsPopup”, in every language of our website.

Could you try to replicate this issue and tell me how to solve this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I’ve got some news.

The problem seems to be related to Cookie Category “slug”.
So, as I can see, “Necessary” cookie Category slug must be “necessary”.

So, can Cookie Category for ENGLISH and Cookie Category for ITALIAN have same slug?

    Just solved.

“You can use the Quick Edit button in the cookie category listing page to edit the slug and enter the same slug as in the other language. You won’t be able to do it from the All Languages section due to WordPress limitations.

    Thanks anyway.
