    Hello,
    I’ve a working wordpress website in a bluehost hosting.

    I’m trying to migrate to godaddy. After exporting database from bluehost and trying to import it to godaddy, I get this error:

    {
    Error
    SQL query:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en" dir="ltr"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link rel="icon" href="./favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="./favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <title>phpMyAdmin</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="phpmyadmin.css.php?server=1&token=6966799c25798a14ed63f4d251d82d5d&js_frame=right&nocache=5409463157" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="print.css" media="print" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="./themes/pmahomme/jquery/jquery-ui-1.8.custom.css" /> <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow" /> <script src="./js/cross_framing_protection.js?ts=1344778698" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="./js/jquery/jquery-1.4.4.js?ts=1344778[...]

    #1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC &quot;-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN&quot;
        &quot;http://www.w' at line 1
    }

    I’m not sure what is that error and what is the reason of the error, I mean either a problem in my database, or either hostings? taking in consideration that the same database is still live and working fine in bluehost.

    Thanks,

    Best Regards..

  • I’d try exporting it again. Perhaps a corruption occurred.

    There is an excellent plugin for migrating WordPress installations it is called DUPLICATOR.

    Your error is quite serious, somehow an HTML type file is being examined for database SQL commands, this is very wrong. Most likely you are trying to import the wrong file.
    If it is not a simple fix, I would suggest that you delete this failed transfer and start again from scratch.

    Thanks all for your reply.

    Unfortunately, I’ve repeated the process again and again with no result.

    I also used the duplicator and didn’t work with me. Most of the items were giving warning though my website’s database is just 5 MB.

    when I try to import on bluehost, there is no error shows. Only in godaddy error shows!

    any help with that please?

    It looks like you’re not importing a database file, but an HTML file.

    I’m not all too familiar with the Godaddy importing process, but are you pointing to a file online or are you uploading a file? How large is the file, and are you able to view it’s contents in some way?

    Hi Tony.N. I work at GoDaddy. Is your GoDaddy hosting account a shared hosting account (e.g. cPanel), or is it on Managed WordPress?

    Thanks for your reply.

    I’m importing .sql file

    When I import it into bluehost, I don’t get any problems. When I import it with godaddy, I get problems.

    The file is only 5 MB.

    Thanks ccarfi for your reply.

    I have done all those steps. The problem is on importing database to godaddy. When I try to import it to other servers (bluehost), it works fine.

    Thanks

    Can you please drop me an email? Redacted email

    Bluehost sucks, I cancelled & migrated all websites to godaddy not just the single website on the post.

    Thanks ccarfi, thanks Godaddy.

    You’re welcome! Glad we could help.
