# Problem getting comments

 * I’m developing a couple of designs and on both I cannot add a comment area for
   my post. This is the message on all post pages: “Comments on this entry are closed.”
 * Under Settings, Discussion all of these are checked:
 *  Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article
    Allow link notifications
   from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) Allow people to post comments on 
   new articles
 * I have checked everything under Screen Option for all posts.
 * I’m at a standstill with my design. How can I fix this?

 * to rule out any plugin/theme specific issue, have you tried:
 * – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the 
   problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually(
   one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).

 * I did try that. I have the same problem even with all plugins deactivated.

 * How about if you switched to the default Twenty Fifteen theme WITH ALL plugins
   off?

 * Tara, I didn’t see this last night, but just checked and that does remove the
   comments closed section. So what does that mean? Is there an issue with the theme
   I’m working on?

 * Tara, I did turn off the plugins and switched to Twenty Fifteen and the “comments
   closed” message wasn’t there.
 * So, I guess I should assume that the problem is with the theme and not WorkPress
   or plugins?

 * So, I guess I should assume that the problem is with the theme and not WorkPress
   or plugins?
 * Yes – your theme seems to be the problem.
 * – try uploading a fresh copy of your theme.
    – If the issue persists, contact
   your theme’s developers.
