  • what help do you want?

    that page is NOT finished. I can write it if you like, that would probably satisfy Google, but you would probably be better off to have YOUR info there rather than mine.

    They want content. you have (essentially) none.

    Its pretty simple. You need to establish a blog that has content, and then worry about adsense.

    Honestly, I applaud them for declining you, not because I want to be shitty, but because it shows they do have SOME standards.

    It also doesnt help that your domain name reeks of sites that spam.

    Whooamni’s entirely right.

    Dude, you have three posts on your blog and you haven’t even changed the default links in the blog roll. Imagine the kind of website you want to have, create it, and then got back to Google.

    Putting adsense on your site as it stands would be a waste of pixels.

    And maybe install a theme? Unmodified Kubrick isn’t exactly eyecatching or relevant to your niche.

    Hello Whooami

    What I want is to meet all the requirments in the “further details” message from Google. Basically I haven’t been able to master all that is required and the reference to default links in the blog roll referred to by Haeccity is like another language to me.

    From your remarks, it looks as if the best thing I could do is throw this out the window, but before I do that I would like to get over the adsense hurdle. You offered to write the page. What would be the procedure and would it cover all the points made by google.

    I also wish to say that I very much appreciate your offer to me. If I can get over this, maybe my next blog will be easier and conform to acceptable standards.

    Thank you
    Joe

    Joe2,
    You can edit your own About page yourself.
    Simply put down some things like what your site is about..

    Go figure…….

    About…

    Maybe put some copyright information or something 😉

    Joe2,

    I appreciate the offer but I was being facecious 🙂

    Meeting those “further details” means you need to write. It means you have to blog.

    In a nutshell, Google is telling you that your site is new, it has no content. They want content. Meaningful content.

    And youre going about things backwards if youre holding out for getting the adsense account first — that alone makes me wonder how sincere any of this really is.

    I’ll toss out the rhetorical question.

    Why is someone who is admittedly ‘new’ to the web so insistant on getting an adsense account without having an *established* web site to put the adsense stuff on.. hmm.

    Joe2: It’s not really a matter of meeting any sort of standards. Your webpage is obviously brand spankin’ new. It’s using the default theme. It has all the default links. It has the default text on the about page. Everything about it screams “new blog”.

    They’re not rejecting you because of any standards. They’re rejecting you because your page is clearly new. They only give out Adsense ads to established pages with people visiting them. You can’t have many visitors to your site if it has only been up for a couple of weeks.

    Basically, you have to actually have a site before you can actually sell advertising on it. My advice would be to keep building your site and getting readers and then try again after 6 months or so.

    Also, they review potential sites *by hand*. You’re not being rejected by an automated system here. You’re being rejected by human beings who looked at your new site and could tell that it was new.

    “…the reference to default links in the blog roll referred to by Haeccity is like another language to me.”

    Take a look at your blog. See the bit that says “Blogroll” (on the right, with all the rest of the stuff that’s in what’s called the sidebar)? That’s the “Blogroll.” It’s just a fancy term for a list of links to other blogs (although the links don’t have to be to blogs).

    Now see all the links underneath “Blogroll,” with names as follows:

    * Alex
    * Michel
    * Donncha
    * Dougal
    * Mike
    * Matt
    * Ryan

    Those are the example links that were in your blog by default (hence the “default links”). So that explains the mystery of what I meant by the “default links in your blogroll.”

    Basically you have barely even started making the blog your own. To change those links log in to the admin area and look for “Links.” Clicking on that will take you to a list of links. You can change or delete those examples, and you can add further links.

    If you actually want to have links, then make sure they’re links you want to have there — presumably links that are relevant to the people you hope will visit your site.
