# Problem creating/assigning categories

 * I’m having trouble creating and using categories. Sometimes the categories don’t
   show up when I try to create them. I enter the category name, hit Add, and nothing
   happens. Sometimes the category gets created OK, but I can’t check the box when
   I make a post. The category doesn’t show up in the category list in the home 
   page either.
 * Pages seem to be working fine.
 * I’ve installed and used WordPress dozens of times before, and never had this 
   problem.
 * Any ideas?

 * I think I fixed the problem, by turning off Javascript in Firefox. Others have
   fixed similar problems the same way. I don’t know what’s causing this though.

 * Is there an actual answer to the original question, I am not able to add catagories
   too. I have a new installation that I also upgraded to 2.3.1 – I can’t add catagories
   or posts.

 * I was having the same problem adding categories. I was using Firefox as my browser.
 * I tried adding categories using Internet Explorer – and the categories added 
   fine.
 * Bit of a pain but at least when using IE it works.

 * Well I got the same problem, and turning of the Javascript works. But for me,
   with internet explorer 7 didn’t work.
