Neither HTTrack nor Pagenest will make copies of my WordPress-based sites on my local hard drive. These work on other non-Wordpress sites I have tried them on. Please advise as to how best to make a local offline self-standing mirror of my sites. (I have managed to make such copies using xampp but would also like the sort of self-standing mirror possible with website copiers like HTTrack.) Thanks.

I recommend asking the developers of these products 🙂

WordPress is not a simple HTML site that can be mirrored that way? What is your ultimate purpose in having a local copy of your site? If you want to back it up, there are a number of plugins in the repository that can do that
