Hello, i need your help please!!

We run a multilingual site( WPML) with sensei online courses that we offer to students.
These courses are created and maintained by different teachers. Of course, in different languages.
    The basic language is English.
It can happen that teachers offer courses in their mother tongue and of course in another language.
    Example:
An English teacher offers one course in English and another in Italian.
He uses the English desktop for this purpose. He does not translate the course but creates a new one. But he does not change the language interface from English to Italian.
Students in England can easily buy and edit/perform courses.
    Problem:
Students from Italy can buy the courses, but not edit/perform them.
They are also not displayed under “My Courses”. If the student now searches for the course in the list, the system tells him that he must first buy the course before he can edit it, even though he has already bought it.
Is the teacher’s original language setting responsible for this?
How can you change the settings so that teachers can use different languages in courses without having to change the whole system to another language?
How can students view, buy and edit courses in other languages if they are not based on their local language?

    II more explanation:
The problem is that a student in Italy, for example, who is also logged in in Italian, buys a course in German, but does not get the course displayed in his “My Courses”. The student would then have to switch to the German interface, i.e. set the language switch to German, in order to view and edit the course.
However, we want every student to be able to buy any course in any language, regardless of their language settings, and to be able to find and edit courses in their “My Courses”.
    Unfortunately, this does not work.
Basically, every course is always bound to the language, as a course, as a lesson, as a product for the teacher as well as for the student. Unfortunately, this always requires a complete language change. For the teacher less the problem, but for the student. The student then has to know that he has to adapt his language setting to the course. And you can’t teach that to the students. This will certainly still work immediately after the purchase. But later he doesn’t remember it and doesn’t find his courses again. And we have support requests all the time.

    Do you have any ideas?

  • Hello

could you report this also to our WPML forum at https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ ?

Please just create a post there, share the link to this forum ticket and mention that Konrad has asked you to do this and tell that at WPML’s internal bug tracker yous issue already has ID comp-3356

Then someone will ping me and I will able to properly handle this.

@kkarpieszuk thanks for looking into this! Would you mind updating this thread too when the issue is resolved?

    Of course Dan

@lbbadi1 have you created the ticket at wpml.org forum? No one from the forum pinged me yet. When you create, please share the link also here

@drawmyface small update: the user @lbbadi1 has never replied to me neither here or at our forum (he hasn’t created any ticket yet). I have to close our internal ticket for this. Or Dan, have you replicated the issue? In that case, could you share a site dump ot steps to replicate?

any as I am speaking with you now: I think we – WPML team – will create a glue plugin between WPML and Sensei, the same as we did for Woocommerce (we have Woocommerce Multilingual) and ACF (ACF Multilingual). Are you willing to contribute to this? I see there are many issues between both plugins and some of them would require changes in Sensei (I have access to your git repo so I can submit pull requests, but sometimes I will need your knowledge)

@kkarpieszuk no, we have not replicated the issue. Unless @lbbadi1 replies, we can consider this resolved for now.

Regarding the ‘glue’ plugin, I’ll talk to our developers and get back to you. Thanks!

ok, please update me when you have any answer
