 * I tried to update my wp site and a problem happens.
 * Now, I can´t go into WP menu and its show me this error:
 * Fatal error: Call to a member function add_filter() on a non-object in /home/
   europea1/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 111
 * I dont know how to fix it. I have a Jetpack plugin for backups but I can´t use
   it.

 * You’ll need FTP access for this, or use backup to restore your website from cPanel(
   I don’t know if a Jetpack version fits). What exactly you’ve been updating when
   this happened? Plugins, theme or something else?
 * Look at this as well – [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/39391](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/39391)
 * Sorry, just noticed you’ve been updating theme.
    Use some FTP program to access
   your hosting and rename folder with your current theme. That will cause WP to
   default to TwentySixteen or so theme, and that should hopefully brings back full
   access to your website.

 * Ok, I think I fixed it.
 * First, I disabled all plugins by FTP access by renaming the plugins folder and
   then login into the site. I could login but my site was a mess without plugins.

   When I rename again the “plugins” folder to original name, the site stills showing
   me the same error.
 * So, I saw the Jetpack plugin was disabled, like all plugins I installed.
 * At least I could install Jetpack plugin and connect it to my site to restore
   it by backup.
 * Then I install again my wp version I had before the update using ftp, without
   copying the wp-contents folder to avoid a new failure and maintain my plugins
   setup.
 * And, for now, It looks great. I have to check it.

 * But if you’re not running latest WP version, and if your website is [http://europeanlc-online.com/](http://europeanlc-online.com/)
   it looks like you’re using WP 4.6 then you’re using outdated version with a number
   of security issues. So you should upgrade to the latest one ASAP. And if your
   theme causes a problem, then the theme has to be fixed or has to go.
