[Resolved] Problem After Changing Domain

  • Hi.

I switched my domain from suitelife.ES to suitelife.COM. Following instructions I found, I made changes to reflect this in my wordpress’ database (it’s a multisite and I did it for each site), changing for ‘siteurl’, ‘home’, etc. Then added define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’,’suitelife.com’); to the wp-config.php. I get this error message on a white screen:

This webpage has a redirect loop.

The webpage at http://suitelife.com/wp-signup.php?new=suitelife.com has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

I’m way over my head with this. Could someone please help me out with this?

  • Search the DB again for the .ES domain. Search EVERY table.

Also check your wp-config.php and make sure everything in there points correctly.

Thanks. I found a few in the database that needed to be changed that previously I assumed were for images and other things I could change with a plugin.

Best to just change ’em all 🙂 It’s safer that way.

I see that now. I tried to find a list of the specific things that absolutely had to be changed in order for it to just basically work (and I’d sort out the details later – there were thousands of instances to change), but it wasn’t enough.

I’m not even half done changing all .ess to .coms but evidently I changed the right ones at this point.
