  • I decided to buy the pro version of this plugin so that I wouldn’t have to worry about finding cookies as it would do it automatically, and I could use features like geolocation and giving people the ability to switch off cookies.

Unfortunately this didn’t really live up to my expectations. It actually didn’t find any of my sites cookies, despite the fact there were 9 (from memory). It also only gives you the ability to turn off certain listed cookies…and there’s not many of them. I ended up turning that feature off as I think I could control 1 of the 9 only. To be honest I don’t know what I expected. I think somehow I thought that this would either instruct the browser to ignore cookies or would somehow intercept them as they were looking to be sent. Obviously it doesn’t do either of those.

    The geolocation works well though.

As for the free version, I actually prefer that I think. It doesn’t promise anything fancy, so it doesn’t have problems delivering. I’m actually thinking of the money for the pro version more of a donation to the author who obviously puts a good deal of time into the free version, and for that I thank them.
