Support » Plugin: Simply Static » Private WordPress – Public Static Site

I want to use wordpress as a static site generator (obviously). However I would like to keep the wordpress site private, or login required, but have the static site be non private (seems redundant any way as you can’t mange logins)

I tried to use the “My Private Website” plugin. I does a great job of making the site private, but those are the same pages it generates when you generate the static site.

Is there any recommended way/plugin to give functionality like this?

You could put your WordPress site behind a password (eg using htaccess) or IP whitelist in your firewall.

    Hey @douglaskastle,

I agree with @woodsandhillsplc htaccess would be the best way to do that.

I tested a couple of plugins myself, but none of them are really that great in whitelisting specific URLs (for example to perform certain REST API actions or anything related).

    So +1 for htaccess.

    Best regards,
    Patrick
