• Marked private, but invisible to my helpers !!!

I can see it, but they can’t, even tho I copied and provided the site&post# from my browser address line.

What I see is private: HEADLINE OF POST

One of the recipient says the error msg is : “Oops! That page can’t be found.

(My 1st time using private publish.)

Please see the codex page on private posts: https://codex.wordpress.org/Content_Visibility

Private posts are not visible to anyone but those with the appropriate permission levels (Editor or Administrator).

    Thanks, Cube~!
Well, that’s difficult, presently. If I assign a password for privately sharing a post prior to publishing, inviting feedback — are those who have that key able to see only that particular privately-released post, or will they see everything in my blog? Or, nothing at all?

Password protecting posts is different to making them private. For details of password protecting posts, see https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Password_Protection

for a normal install anyone can see normal published posts.

Editors and admins can see private posts

Anyone can see password protected posts – but only if they have the password.
