private posts corrupt category list

  • I tried using the “private” visibility feature for a post for the first time and found what looks like a bug in my “dot latest” wordpress install. The problem results in the “list category” feature to crash during display of the first post using the private visibility feature.

    To demonstrate the problem:
    1) create a new post and mark it’s visibility as private
    2) add a category to the post that is common to several other posts
    3) update/publish the post
    4) exit back end and go to your home page
    5) select the category and observe how the new post crashes the list of posts that should have displayed.

    On my wordpress blog, I get the following text just before the category display crashes:

    .value > 0 ) { location.href = "http://www.lecturemaker.com/?cat="+dropdown.options[dropdown.selectedIndex].value; } } dropdown.onchange = onCatChange; /* ]]> */

    I hope this helps the developer community come up with a fix,

    Ron

    @keesiemeijer

    try:
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    And see if that resolves the problem

    Good point Keesiemeijer:

    I am using the twentyten theme, I think that is the default.

    Can you use a private post without it clobbering the category list display?

    Best regards,

    Ron
