Support » Installing WordPress » Private – “eyes only” CMS w/ WP?

  • Private Blog? Sounds contrary to what blogging is suppose to be…however I’m in a collaborative mode with a partner where we need the simplicity and CMS ability of WP but we don’t need anyone to review our notes and content.

Obviously we want to accomplish the following:

    1. User id and login at every post/page. Can not access “back door” content some how.

    2. “No follow” script for Google and other spiders. We do not want to be indexed.

    3. Strip out any RSS feature.

Any ideas. Apologies if they are posts to this. I did look and couldn’t find any.

  • You are looking for this one?

To be honest, though, I’d just use a Wiki. It does a better job than WP as a notes-sharing software, IMO.

But if you are still want to go with wordpress why not modify your theme so that it includes noindex, nofollow that shouln’t be difficult, or simply put

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /

in your robots.txt, also you can password protect every post.

Can’t you just use htaccess to make your blog directory unreachable by the public? That is probably the easiest and most secure.

Thank you everyone for your time to respond. McShelby – thank you – I will download that plug-in and see what happens.

Also – I have to learn more about the ht-access file as well. Thanks mbaze.

    – Rob
