Noticed an issue with latest plugin update
After creating a recurring event and setting the event to private, the events are still appearing on the event page and in calendar.
For example, 1 morning(public) and 1 afternoon event(private) are both visible (links clickable).
Setting the private event to public works, but trying to revert this back to private doesn’t.

    – running twenty 17
    – no other plugins
    – wp 4.8.1
    – latest event manager dev version (tried to see if resolves the issue)

just to confirm, did you mean EM version 5.7.3.3 ?

    Hi @angelo_nwl

Yes running EM 5.7.3.3, now reverted back to 5.7.3

Private events used to be invisible in the front end until published.
They now appear on listing, returning a 404 when clicked.

    Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re running into this issue. Hopefully we can work together to get this solved, and make sure those private events are in fact private.

First, would you be so kind as to provide a link to the page/site in question so that we can inspect it further? Also, have you noticed any console errors being thrown at all?

The issue is that events, created via a recurring event were able to be marked as private and not display on an event listing page or on the calendar.
Now, any event created as private do appear as a link in the calendar, and so can be clicked, and because they are private, they will return a 404 if not logged in.

The fix needed is to make sure that Private events are not visible on the front end, just like a draft.
An update/change must have been made to the code for this to happen.

I cannot provide a URL, there is no error in the logs.

    Thanks

I haven’t been able to replicate this. Do you have any custom code or templates running that relate to Events Manager?

How are you displaying the events list and calendar? If you’re using a shortcode, can you post it here?

Are you using a multisite version of WordPress or the standard single version?

    wpsupprt

    (@wpsupprt)

There is no custom code as running Twenty 17.

    Steps to replicate
    – Create a recurring event
    – Set recurring event as Private
    – All events are created as private
    – In Frontend, Calendar widget displays link to Private event (not logged in)
    – Clicking on date, Event page displays event link
    – Clicking on event link, returns a 404

Private events should not be clickable/considered active so link should not be displayed.

Thanks, I’m getting something similar. I’ve passed this on to the Dev team.

There’s no update at the moment.

Sorry for the delayed reply. We’re going to be releasing an update in the coming days, and was just reviewing this issue, however neither Caimin nor I am able to reproduce it at the moment. The links don’t appear at all on the calendar.

    Have you tried version 5.7.3.4?
