Private entries are not visible even after logging in

    Hi,

    I have installed the free connections plugin. My page is https://drf.learnwise.in/public-member-directory/. I have some pre-sales and one support question:

    • I am not able to see the private entry even if the user is logged in. I am using Ultimate membership Pro plugin for members,but all the member login details are stored in the same user table.
    • Is there a way to import the entries?
    • Does Pro include custom fields extension or we will need to buy that separately?
    • I would like to show a widget to search the directory by name, city, country and category (something like https://imperialprivatehealthcare.co.uk/consultants-directory/). This widget would be on my homepage and search would lead to the results page which will be same as filtered directory. Possible to do it through Connections Pro?

    Please navigate to the Connections Roles admin page, scroll to the Role which is assigned to your members upon registration (by default this would be Subscriber), give that role the “View Private” capability, and save the change.

    Yes, there is a CSV Import addon which you can use to bulk import Entries. here’s the link:

    There is not a custom fields addon, but, you can add custom fields. Here’s a link to a tutorial which explains how:

    That site is using a beta of the advanced search addon available, on request, to those who purchase the full Pro Pack bundle. That site admin did customize it a bit. The layout is not side-by-side. The dropdowns are stacked.

    I do apologize for the trouble! It seems you share an IP/range of a known spammer, at least according to the anti-spam solution provide being used. I’ll see if I can find your message in the logs and add you to the approved list.

    Thanks for your prompt response. My replies inline:

    • Private entries not visible
      They are visible now after giving access to the Subscriber role. Thanks 🙂
    • Is there a way to import the entries?
      I can get this, will work for me.
    • Does Pro include custom fields extension or we will need to buy that separately?
      Will look into this.
    • I would like to show a widget to search the directory by name, city, country and category.
      Will this allow me to have widget on the homepage and direct the user to directory page on search? Also, I can go for the Extension Pro Pack, but I am happy with the default template. Will you be able to offer this beta extension on that?

    Few additional questions:

    1. Possible to show images in a circle on https://drf.learnwise.in/public-member-directory/?
    2. Possible to reduce the size of images in related boxes in https://drf.learnwise.in/public-member-directory/name/shashank-gupta/?

    Yes, the advanced search beta can be placed on the homepage and the directory on its own page. All search requests will resolve to the page set as the Directory Homepage on the Connections Settings admin page under the Display tab which should have the [connections] shortcode on it.

    Also, it might be worth mentioning, the advanced search is not a widget. It is a shortcode. This shortcode can be difficult to set up if you are not familiar with them. Especially if you wish to set up the multiple category search.

    There is the Circled template (also included in the Pro Pack bundle). Here’s the link

    RE: Possible to reduce the size of images in related boxes

    Add the following to the theme’s custom CSS area in the Customizer:

    .cn-entry-content-block-list div[class*="cn-entry-content-block-entry-related"] {
    max-width: 630px;
}

    You can change the width to suit.
