PRIVACY SETTINGS

  • Running the most current version of WP on a Genesis framework. Everything is updated and happy. Question is, I am trying to create a private family blog and when I visit the PRIVACY settings inside the WP ADMIN panel, there are only two options available. ALLOW SEARCH ENGINES and ASK SEARCH ENGINES. There is no radio button to turn complete privacy on. Thoughts? Suggestion?

  • What are yu considering complete privacy? Like you need to be logged in to see posts?

That’s not a built in WP feature, but there are several membership plugins if you take a gander

Yes, I need the ability to invite a guest by email so that they can login to the website. I have been scouring the internet for plugin but none seem to work. Can you recommend any?

Invites is a whole different thing, if you need invites, you might need 2 different plugins

I don’t have a lot of experience here but
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-members/
seems the most complete, and up to date

I will look into it. You would think that someone out there would have a simple plugin that would just take your site completely private without any fuss Sheesh!

I’m sure it’s out there! It’s just hard to sort through what exists

If members plugins don’t pan out, try a search for invite plugins….
