How are you putting a privacy policy button on your site?
I just used the Settings > Privacy settings. Nothing special. It appears to not work on PCs either where it hasn’t been set before. If I spin up a new VM and go to our site (www.dcac.com) the close and accept button doesn’t appear to do anything other than cause the website to refresh.
Is there any update on this?
do you see any error(s) in your browser’s error console?
no, there are no errors and it’s happening on both our production and dev websites, where it was working fine in the past.
I can’t reproduce it, so it’s something in your environment.
This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for JUST you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time. See https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/ or https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/ for more information.
Try disabling Jetpack. Does it make a difference?
