  • I run a small school. We have a page for parents which is password protected. One of the parents pointed out recently that if you have the url of the student directory which is on that page, then you can access it even if you don’t know the password. That doesn’t strike me as good security. Is there a way around this?

,,,the protected page or the student directory? You got me to thinking here, and I would guess a password-protected page is not a protected “vault” like a password-protected folder. So, maybe try making the student directory a child of the protected page — mysite.com/protected_page/student_directory — and see what happens or else make it protected also or put everything needing protection in a password-protected folder.
