  • Why not just add a print.css stylesheet to your header.php file?

Yes I spose I could do that. The print friendly button looks like a terrific idea though, you can remove the bits you don’t want to print and just print the bit you do. I wanted people to be able to print coupons without any comments or other stuff. As I said, it’s terrific in Firefox – automatically stripping out the nav li lists etc.

You can do exactly the same via a print stylesheet. I almost always remove all nav menus and other bits that aren’t needed on a printed page.

Well you can’t do “exactly the same” with a print stylesheet. That’s my point. But there is no point in us arguing about it. I will just say that I am disappointed that I cannot put my visitors in charge of what they want to print and I will now set to and write up my print stylesheet.

‘It shows up a blank page in ie8 for me too, did you figure it out? I also want to use this feature

I’m friends with the guy behind PrintFriendly, and the product has had a few outstanding bugs for quite a while now, i.e. try using the button with ‘referrers’ disabled in your browser (my gripe, it doesn’t work). Not 100% sure at the moment, but I think he’s moved on.

While selective print is very user feature nice, I’d rather have the functionality client-side without having to leave the page. We might roll this kind of functionality into AddToAny soon.
