Primary sidebar issue with ALX tabs on an IPAD

Hi,

Thanks for a great theme, I’ve enjoyed working with it. I’ve found an issue that I want to flag regarding the ALX tabs in the primary sidebar being viewed with an ipad (only mobile device tested). On a laptop viewing with Firefox no issues at all were observed.

I noticed in some earlier discussions that Jetpack may be to blame however, I uninstalled it, deleted everything from the primary sidebar, cleared the cache, cleared history and data from the ipad safari.

1.I noted the following using the Ipad with firstly NO WIDGETS in the primary sidebar:

IPAD SAFARI: The search bar shows up at the top of the sidebar and below that a category section labeled ‘Categories’ (not a dropdown menu).

IPAD CHROME: Nothing shows up in the primary sidebar, identical to Firefox on the laptop as expected.

2. I then added the ALXtabs widget to the primary sidebar (nothing else except this is present). This shows correctly on Firefox on the laptop. All data and history deleted from Safari on Ipad.

IPAD SAFARI: The ALX tabs don’t appear. The search bar at the top and the category section below still show.

IPAD CHROME: ALXtabs don’t show in Chrome on the Ipad however, a drop down category section now shows on the top and below that the search bar.

3. IF I ADD THE ALX TABS WIDGET and go to the bottom of it AND CLICK SAVE the following happens:

IPAD SAFARI: Nothing shows in the primary sidebar.

IPAD CHROME: The ALXtabs show as normal.

4. I then add the Search widget below the ALX tabs widget. Again all data on the ipad deleted. Shows correctly on the laptop on Firefox.

IPAD Safari: The ALXtabs show and the Search bar shows below it as normal.

IPAD Chrome: The ALXtabs show and the Search bar below it.

5. The Search widget moved above the ALXtabs widget and SAVE clicked.

IPAD Safari: The ALXtabs show and the Search bar shows above it as normal.

IPAD Chrome: The ALXtabs show but the Search bar is absent.

6. The categories widget added below the search widget but above the ALXtabs. SAVE clicked in the categories widget.

IPAD Safari: The ALXtabs show and the Search bar shows above it however, the dropdown categories do not show.

IPAD Chrome: Categories are nowhere to be seen. The ALXtabs show and the Search bar is shown above it, however over 10 refreshes the Search bar will switch to below the ALXtabs on some occasions. This was not observed in Safari.

7. The categories widget was moved below the ALXtabs and SAVE PRESSED in the widget. The order in the primary sidebar now is: Search, ALXtabs and Categories.

IPAD Safari: Everything shows up correctly with the drop down categories appearing below the ALX tabs.

IPAD Chrome: The search bar again alternates above and below the ALXtabs. When appearing above the ALXtabs the drop down category shows below the ALXtabs, however, when the search bar appears belows the ALXtabs the drop down category section disappears.

In Summary, if you don’t manually click the SAVE button in the widgets you are going to run into problems trying to get the right things to display in the primary sidebar on an ipad. However, even with clicking SAVE there do seem to still be some issues.
