Hi, I am looking at changing from Elementor to Gutenberg. To this end I am working on a local server (Xampp). One of the problems I am encountering in the Customiser is changing the colours for initial, hover & active on the header primary menu.

It works for normal URl’s i.e the colour of the fonts change as expected when you hover or click the links.

However if the links are an HTML anchor the colour changes do not work.

    Hope you can help

    Bob

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for reaching out! Would you mind posting a link to your site?

    Hi Hannah,

    thanks for your swift response.

As I mentioned above my website is on localhost as I am evaluating the changes. However if I can give you any further information i.e. debug etc. please let me know.

I have tried changing the theme and disabling plugins, however nothing changes.

    Regards

However if the links are an HTML anchor the colour changes do not work.

It could be that WordPress is assigning those anchors as being the “current page” which would give them the active color. Using absolute links for example would do this for your home page. Is that what is happening on your end?

    Hi Be,

thankyou for your reply, you are absolutely right, this is exactly what is happening.

In Elementor I did not have this problem, I am trying to recreate the website using only Kadence theme and Kadence blocks.

Having changed the URL’s to relative, they now work as expected.

However the URL’s in Kadence Blocks (I know this is not the right support area)
work in the editor but not in the preview.

I can if needs be report this anomaly in the correct support area.

    Regards

    Bob

    Hi Bob,
I haven’t heard of others experiencing this. Can you confirm you’re running the latest versions of the theme/plugins/WordPress? Have you cleared your cache?

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

    thanks for persevering with me.

I can confirm that themes, all plugins and WordPress are at the latest versions.

I have re-checked the URL’s in the paragraph block and made sure that they are all “relative”, in the editor when I hover over the links the colour changes, however in the front end the colour remains as initial or active.

    Regards

    Hi Bob,
Sorry for the delayed response. When do you plan to make your site live? It’s difficult to troubleshoot without seeing this on your site. Have you tried deactivating your plugins to test if any are conflicting?

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

The only plugin that I have enabled is Kadence Blocks and the theme is Kadence.

Unfortunately I do not have a time frame for going “live”, it will probably be the end of May 2021.

If the situation has not resolved itself I will contact you again after going “live”.

    Regards

    Bob
