primary featured category for posts on the Showcase Page template

You have a beautiful template. I am developing a new blog using the Skylark theme. However, I am having a problem with using the showcase template to create a static home page. I cannot figure out how to add more that one category to the static home page. Please help. My site is at: http://www.urbannewsupdate.com.
