Primary Category Breadcrumb Bug

Hello.

There is a bug in bug with choosing a Woocommerce Primary Category for a product page and it being displayed correctly in Breadcrumbs.

Each product has a few product categories assigned to it and for every product I have chosen a primary product category by clicking the radio button “Make Term Primary”.

Under WP Admin > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Products > Product Taxonomy I have “Product Categories” selected.

Under WP Admin > Rank Math > General Settings > Woocommerce > Remove category base I have set it to [ON]

The issue is that I expect to see the primary category in the breadcrumbs, but what I actually see is the first category in the list which is checked (instead of the “Make term primary” one which it should be).

I.e. I expect to see the following in the Breadcrumbs on product pages:

Home » Shop » Primary Category » Product Page Title

But instead I am seeing this:

Home » Shop » First Selected Category in List » Product Page Title

Please fix this asap.

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for the issue you are facing.

It seems to be working fine on our setup or do we need to follow some other steps to reproduce? Here’s a screencast:

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Please let us know if you find the culprit.

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Hello,

i’m experiencing same issue. I’ve followed you recommendation using Health Check and even when using default theme and only Woocommerce and Rank Math enabled the issue persists. In Rank Math settings General – Titles & Meta – Products I don’t see option Primary Category, only Product Category.

I am using latest versions of all plugins.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for confirming that you are also seeing the issue. It is still unresolved for me too.

I have found a temporary fix. Basically it fixes the issue but the issue then comes back again by itself at some point and I have been unable to figure out what makes it come back.

Could you try the following:

1) Go to WP Admin->Plugins->Add New
2) Install a new plugin
3) Activate the plugin
4) Deactivate and delete the plugin

Is your product’s primary category now showing in the breadcrumbs again?
