    Hi, I am trying to build a Rate Table but don’t know how to implement my requirement with this plugin. Could you help me with some idea?

    One of my accommodations has a bit complicated pricing rule;
    – For single person’s use, the charge for 1st night is 9000. After the 2nd night, pricing per night is 7200.
    – For more than 2 people staying, the charge for the 1st night is 8500. After the 2nd night, pricing per night is 6800.

    Here’s the summary of total price;
    https://ibb.co/zbd61ND

    In the Rate Table, it looks like I need to set “Price per night”.
    However, in our rule the price per night varies depending on which night in the stay.

    Would it be possible to implement this pricing model with VikBooking? It would be great if you come up with any great idea and share with me!

    Hi,

    Thanks for the detailed information. Yours is a mix of OBP (Occupancy Based Pricing) and LOS (Length of Stay) pricing, which is fully supported by Vik Booking of course.
    However, the OBP rules are not affected by the LOS pricing rules. I’m going to give you an example.

    Basically, from the page Rates Table you are supposed to specify the nightly base rates for the default/standard occupancy of the room, which is usually equal to the minimum or maximum adults occupancy. This is just up to you.
    That said, in the page Rates Table you could specify the base costs for 1 adult (single occupancy) as follows:

    from 1 night to 1 night – cost per night 9000
    from 2 nights to 2 nights – cost per night 8100 (so 2 nights will be 16200)
    from 3 nights to 3 nights – cost per night 7800 (so 3 nights will be 23400)
    from 4 nights to 4 nights – cost per night 7650 (so 4 nights will be 30600)
    …and so on.

    Please notice that the page Rates Table will display your LOS pricing rules in a table where you can edit every price for any number of nights of stay to adjust some values.

    At that point you need to take care of the OBP offsets, which will determine the price modification for any other combination of adults (occupancy). This is an OpenTravel standard which Vik Booking follows in order to be compliant with any OTA, like Booking.com, Expedia or Airbnb.

    From the edit page of each room, you will be able to set up the occupancy-based-pricing offsets for any other adults occupancy going from the lowest to the maximum adults occupancy defined for your room (for example, from 1 to 5 adults).
    Please notice that OBP offsets are not affected by LOS rules, and so this means that your charges (or discounts) applied for a specific number of adults, like 2, cannot change depending on the number of nights of stay.

    In your pricing example, 2 adults are supposed to pay 8000 more than 1 adult for 1 night of stay (9000 vs 17000), but for 2 nights of stay this is actually changing (16200 vs 30600) as the difference would generate an offset of 7200 per night (14400 of difference).
    Since your OBP rules do not follow a proportional calculation, you need to find the proper OBP offset for the 2-adult occupancy as well as for the other combinations of adults occupancy.

    Lastly, with the Special Prices feature it would be possible to alter/override the OBP offsets on some seasons or dates of the year, but it is never allowed to define different OBP offsets by length of stay, nor with Vik Booking, nor with any OTA, as these pricing models must follow the standards.

    We hope this helps!

    The VikWP Team
