 * Obviously I couldn’t get onto your forums. That’s fine. And since this is a question
   many others might have, it’s probably best asked here.
 * I’m using Live Composer. Been using it for a few years now. Never had a complaint
   aside from some minor missing features. Recently the original developer passed
   it off to another person, and I’m not entirely happy with the direction I see
   it going – for one support has become a secondary concern in my opinion. And
   immediately they added some really goofy features instead of more important ones.
 * I tried the BB demo. Perhaps because I’ve been using Live Composer for so long,
   Beaver Builder seems a bit clunky. And using an online demo is far from using
   the dedicated tool, so my opinion is based on very limited use.
 * So, Live Composer is free. It works great. But as I mentioned I’m getting leery
   of where support is going. So I see Beaver Builder on the horizon, but holy price
   model Batman! Why would I pay $200 for something that works very similar to something
   free?

 * Hey Dave,
 * Thanks for getting in touch and great to hear you are considering Beaver Builder.
   Apologies that our demo appears clunky. I am assuming since we are conversing
   in here, you’ve had a chance to download and test out our free version in your
   environment?
 * Support is actually one of our main concerns with Beaver Builder! We try to offer
   support second to none in terms of turnaround time, technical assistance, and
   even general CSS tweaks if needed above and beyond what our product offers out
   of the box!
 * Our pricing allows us to offer stellar support and to continue on with our aggressive
   roadmap. Feel free to check out our [changelog](https://www.wpbeaverbuilder.com/change-logs/)
   and [public roadmap](https://trello.com/b/pqdibDqC/beaver-builder-roadmap) if
   interested there.
 * In terms of features between free and premium, our premium versions contain all
   of our modules whereas the free version only has the bare bones needed to create
   a good looking basic site. Another really handy feature is our templating functionality.
   The premium versions contain a wide range of pre-designed page templates and
   the ability to save your own.
 * Anyway, hope that helps a bit, but feel free to get in touch with us via hello[
   at]wpbeaverbuilder[dot]com and we would be happy to continue the discussion if
   you like!
 * Best,
    Billy

 * Fair enough. Just because I think the pricing is exorbitant doesn’t mean it is.
 * However…I tried the demo again and ran into an issue that logically should not
   happen.
 * I wanted to change the navigation menu labels. The builder asked if I was sure
   about leaving the page, I confirmed, got into the Dashboard and made my changes.
 * At the top of the Dashboard I clicked on “Beaver Builder” > “Visit site.” Nothing.
 * I go back to the Dashboard. Nothing.
 * How in the world do I invoke the builder again??? I’ve been using WP for almost
   10 years, and still went through every Dashboard menu link looking for something
   to invoke the builder.
 * Still logged in? Yup. Still on the same demo? Yup. Refreshed the page? Yup still
   nothing.
 * Heck, I even logged out and logged back in. Nothing.
 * I assumed like in Live Composer there would be a bright orange button on the
   front-end screaming, “Activate Editor!”
 * So frustrated I was, just closed the whole thing. Once more I was left wondering,
   how is this a $200 product if I get stuck just changing the menu labels to upper
   case?
 * ### UPDATE
 * So I got back in, likely cookies allowed me to continue on after creating another
   demo.
 * I can’t seem to modify anything in the header, specifically placement of the
   logo and navigation menu – I wanted to move the logo above and center the nav
   below. Apparently the builder cannot affect any header elements. Is this correct?
 * I thought this was caused by the Blank template however none of the templates
   allowed me to modify the header. Very odd for a ‘page builder.’

 * Hey Dave,
 * Good to hear back. Re. The header and menu, those are functions of the theme.
   In this case, our theme, which can be modified via the native customizer. The
   page builder itself only allows you to edit within the content area or area in
   between the header/footer. We do offer a headerless/footerless page template
   as part of our theme which does allow you to solely use the page builder if you
   like. That has to be set in the actual page editor via the dashboard. Hope that
   helps and let us know if we can assist further!
 * Best,
    Billy
