    Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me with this issue.

    I’ve been running a blog at christopherdiarmani.com for almost 2 years without a hitch.

    What started happening three days ago is that the very first article in the database is being republished as a new post, once a day.

    This started happening, as near as I can determine, when I updated to v3.3.1 from v3.3.

    Does anyone have any ideas about what’s causing this, and better yet, how to correct the problem?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I haven’t done 1 and 2 as you suggest (usually my starting point too) because the theme and plugins haven’t changed. The only change was updating the site to v3.3.1.

    I’ve re-uploaded the entire wordpress v3.3.1 to overwrite all existing wordpress files on the site, and will see if that solves the problem.

    It will take 12-24 hours for me to know whether the site is going to continue to repost the first post in the table. The only constant I’ve been able to deduce is it’s using the very first post in the table. The timing of the repost seems random, so far as I can tell.

    I will remove all inactive plugins from the site next (tomorrow) if the problem persists.

    Thanks for the suggestions, esmi. If I come up with a solution, I’ll make sure I post it here in case anyone else runs into the same fun I’m having.
