Previous posts dissapeared

  • Since I upgraded up 2.0 all my previous posts that started in June have vanished. I have a backup, but would hate a roll back or to have to look at the individual posts and cut and paste them to rebuild the history.
Other than that, I have to say 2.0 is rather nice.

  • Where is your blog ?
From what did you upgrade ?
    How did you upgrade ?
Are you asking for help ?

Oh, sorry. Yes I was asking for help. If anyone knows why these posts seem be ignored by 2.0. I upgraded from Strayhorn. Blog is at http://www.walkeranderson.com/blog . I have tried different perma-link schemes, and they show in the archive as cached, but from the blog they are not there.
Sorry I wasn’t more clear at the start.

I guess you would have the issue of merging if you failed to spot the missing posts immediately after the upgrade.

You will inevitable have to manually combine the current version and the 1.5 backup. Make sure you have no orphan posts in the current database, i.e. the database in its current form. Keep an eye on the size of the sqldumps. It’s possible that you fail to spot something. This once happened to me with phpwiki.

Can you see the posts in the admin side of the blog ?
If not, can you see them in the database using phpmyadmin ?

If the answers are yes, they will be recoverable.
If not …. more thought is required 🙂

odd thing is, i don’t see them as posts, but in dashboard, options, wp-cache. they seem to be in the wrong place, but if it can be messed up, I will get it there.
