Hi @sterndata,
I can see the shortcode which suggests either something else disabled the shortcode (a la remove_shortcode()
), the shortcode isn’t being processed properly through the_content
filtering, or maybe an error during installation. Can you check the following?
1. Check the page to be sure the shortcode hasn’t been converted to something like [metaslider
2. It looks like a custom theme, so if the content is being output in a special way like via get_the_content
it might not be filtering shortcodes.
Also, you might want to try just deleting MetaSlider and installing it again. We don’t erase anything from the database when you do so it’s safe to delete.
If nothing above seems to help you could check if other shortcodes work in the content section (especially to rule out #2 above)
OK, I’d have said “you’re crazy”, but I put the editor in text mode, where is say
[metaslider id="44"]
I deleted it, manually retyped it, and dang it, it works. Maybe some invisible character got in there from a copy/paste? Dunno. I’ll take the win.
Thanks.
Hey Steve, no problem. Yeah those seem to sneak up in there sometimes (seemingly randomly even).
I do notice you still have a shortcode showing on the hompage, just above “Home Run Derby Champs by Division”. Maybe this one went overlooked?
Turns out that the original developer has a “home.php” in the theme with all that stuff hard-coded. I’m trying to get him to explain his thinking. It’s not your plugin’s issue…. my apologies.
Ah okay, might not be filtering correctly then (#2 I mentioned above). If you want to share the loop code from home.php I can check.
