Last week I followed the wordpress codex steps for “Giving WordPress Its Own Directory.” My site was installed on billbayer.net/wordpress, but I wanted it to point to billbayer.net while keeping the files in the subfolder.
Since then, I can’t preview any pages or posts. Anytime I do, it says “page not found”. I don’t understand this–I’ve gone through this process with another site before, and didn’t have any problems.
As a side note, when I went to change my permalinks as described in the codex it says my .htaccess file is not writeable. I can’t figure out why-I’ve changed permissions and done all I can figure. I did manually copy the new rules into my .htaccess file. Don’t know if this affects the above situation.
