Support » Plugin: WP Webhooks » Prevent whitespace in user_login

  • Hello,

I receive a “firstname” via Zapier and then use this for the user_login (+ some random number). I noticed that some customers enter a whitespace for their firstnames. Is it possible to remove this whitespace? Could you tell me how to do it?
I also wonder why this is allowed for the user_login.

    Thanks for any help!

Hey @quix8 – Thank you very much for your message.
As you are using Zapier, you can use their formater to trim the spaces.
Here’s further info about that: https://zapier.com/blog/updates/593/introducing-formatter-by-zapier
Do let me know in case you have any further questions.

ok thanks, but it looks like I can not use just the trim whitespace, because it says “Removes leading and trailing whitespace.”
And what I want is to (also) remove the spaces in between. Or maybe I will just try it.

Hey @quix8 – Thanks for the answer. Their formatter should also allow you to replace certain values from what I know.
Alternatively, in case you can’t make it work at all, we do also have a WordPress filter available which you can use to manipulate the string https://wp-webhooks.com/docs/knowledge-base/filter-request-return-value/
I hope this helps you so far. Do let me know if you need anything else.
