Hello, I am not using the WordPress default themes, and always delete all default WordPress themes except for the lastest one.

But the other deleted default themes are always being reinstalled (after WordPress updates??)

So is there any way to prevent deleted WordPress themes to be reinstalled?

Thank you for your help 🙂

  • On sites that are already active they should not be reinstalling even on updates…. if they are your host may have a script that is doing this.

On new installs it depends if you are using a script provided by your host to install WP or if you are doing it yourself by downloading from WP.org. If doing it yourself you can always make your own bare bones install with all the plugins and the theme of your choice pre-configured and then compress it and use that to do a manual install. You’d have to backup the database structure and data as well and save that in the same place so you have it when firing up a new site.

    Hope this helps.
