Prevent HTML Stripping

  • Can someone explain to me why the_excerpt() and the_content() keep stripping my HTML. It’s driving me crazy. I’m very particular about how my post looks and feels. Does anyone know a way of preventing these function from doing this?

If it’s obvious, please tell me.

  • Can Anyone Help?

the_excerpt behaves as described in the Codex.
the_content leaves your stuff alone… unless you are putting your hand crafted code in the wysiwyg. If you are so particular about your html – turn off the visual animal! Nobody is supposed to put html into it.
No, switching between visual/code does NOT turn it off.
