    Hi there!

I used your plugin and it works great. I was wondering if the paid version has an option to NOT insert the featured image in the post content? The imported posts are showing the featured image twice (as the featured image and then embedded in the post content below). See screenie:

I would love a fix for this if possible (I have to import about 1000 posts).

    Thank you! 🙂

Hi @lkarchner, glad you found the plugin useful!

This is something which is controlled by the theme, rather than the plugin. Some themes choose to display the Featured Image in the post content, whilst others do not. For example, in our themes, we have a setting to enable/disable that in the options. I’d recommend getting in touch with the creator of your theme to see what they recommend. They might have a similar option, or it might be possible to hide the Featured Image with some CSS.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey there!

Thanks so much for this info. I will get up with the theme developer and see if he has a fix.

    Morning!

I hit up the theme developer and he gave me this info:

Unfortunately this isn’t a theme issue, the Total theme does not auto insert the featured image into the post.

When the support replied to you, they probably assumed you meant on the front-end only (some themes may insert the featured image inside the post content, but if they did that they wouldn’t insert it above as well, that would be weird).

In your case the images aren’t just showing inside the post content on the frontend, but they are being imported and saved into the post itself, this is nothing the theme would do.

What I’m thinking is going on, is that the plugin grabs the first image of the post – https://a.cl.ly/mXupz85J – and set’s it as the featured image but doesn’t actually strip the image from the post automatically. I wonder if perhaps there is a setting that also removes the image from the post when assigning the featured image or if this needs to be done manually after import.

I wanted to make sure you knew what I was trying to do and thought his explanation might help us understand each other. 🙂

Let me know if there is a way to stop the featured image from being imported into the post content. I would like to keep it as the featured image, though. Just not in the post content.

    TY!

    Hi @lkarchner,

The import process will set the first image as Featured. However the theme then decides how to display it. I’m still sure that this is a theme question rather than something related to the import. The solution you’re looking for is to remove the featured image from being displayed on single blog posts.

If you can send me a link to your site I might be able to provide a solution. However the creator of your theme will be much better placed to advise as it is part of the theme itself.

    Hope that helps!
