    Hi

How do I prevent catagory children from showing up on the frontpage. I want only parent catagories to show on the frontpage.

  • Sorta depends on your theme, and how the category list is passed. Basically though, you simply need to pass the proper parameter to the Template Tag.
    Template_Tags/list_cats
    Template_Tags/wp_list_cats
    Template_Tags/How_to_Pass_Tag_Parameters

    where do I put the: <?php wp_list_cats(‘arguments’); ?>

Assuming your theme is like most blogs, your categories are listed in your sidebar. In that case, you’ll be editing the sidebar.php file in your themes folder. And know that ‘arguments’ won’t be part of what you paste into the sidebar, rather you need to determine the actual parameters you want, such as <?php wp_list_cats('sort_columns=name&children=0'); ?>
