    Hi @vegetarianzen,

could you post the contents of your .htaccess file so we can have a look? 404 errors are often caused by an issue with the permalinks, you could try to re-save the permalinks to see if that resolves the issue.

@vegetarianzen Your WordPress pretty permalinks are working as expected. Are you using a plugin for short URL’s or something like that? If we know what you are using we can test it.

There haven’t been any changes regarding the .htaccess redirect, and the redirect does not affect the permalinks anyway.

In some cases the actual switch to SSL can cause a temporary 404 issue, which is why Really Simple SSL flushes the rewrite cache. You can do this manually be re-saving the permalinks, as Mark suggested.

    Hi Rogier,

Thanks for your reply. We are using the Pretty Links plugin. We have 380 links shortened using the plugin. We are using the Lite version.

Our site has been using SSL for several years and we’ve never had an issue with Pretty Links until now. The issue seemed to start after Really Simple SSL updated several days ago. The subsequent RS SSL updates have not resolved the issue.

As several examples, you will see that these links return 404 errors:

    https://www.vegetarianzen.com/350
    https://www.vegetarianzen.com/plantbasedpro
    https://www.vegetarianzen.com/rouxbemembership

All of the links we have created over the past 6-7 years are now doing this.

I’m not sure how to re-save all of the shortened links as you and Mark suggested. Thanks for your help!

I would recommend to go to settings/ permalinks, then click ‘save’

There haven’t been any changes which could cause this, so I suspect it may be something else.

To double check you could try installing the previous version, which you can download here:

    Hello,

Tried settings/permalinks then “save” and still the same issue. We’ll try reinstalling but I don’t want to mess with anything else on the site until after Cyber Monday.

Ok, let me know your findings and we’ll take it from there!
