Are you referring to using a second, shorter domain name for the pretty links instead of your main domain name?
Yes, I bought a shorter domain name and forwarded it to my main domain.
But I already have a bunch of pretty links using my main domain. I don’t want to lose those, and I’d also like to still use that domain for pretty links sometimes.
So I didn’t know if I switch to the short link option if that messes up all my other links, or if I’ll have to use that every time from now on?

Any link that are using the main domain and are hard-coded will stay the same. Anything that is being auto-replaced (keywords, URL replacements etc) will change to the new domain though.
You can use either domain when sharing the links.
But if I add the new domain, when I’m creating pretty links, is there an option for which domain I want to use?

No it defaults to the set one. But you can change out the domain when sharing the links. Either will work.
