    Hi there,

I have a problem with the plugin, I can’t use it because the preset page is blank.
I’ve checked the php errors and I have this :

Undefined index: wpcfs in /var/www/test/wp-content/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/plugin.php in line 63

Use of undefined constant WP_CUSTOM_FIELDS_SEARCH_VERSION – assumed ‘WP_CUSTOM_FIELDS_SEARCH_VERSION’ in /var/www/test/wp-content/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/plugin.php in line 207

    Hi,

Thanks for reporting this, there have been a number of similar reports and I am trying to reproduce the issue but I don’t have enough information yet to see (and fix) the problem myself. If you could answer a few questions that would be very helpful.

Are you upgrading the plugin or have you newly installed it?
    What web-browser are you using?
Are you able to add the plugin widget to a sidebar or is the widget also broken?

    Thanks,
    Don

It looks like one of the libraries I’m using for the admin area is unsupported for Internet Explorer versions before 11. This makes sense as these versions are not even supported by Microsoft any more.

I may consider switching libraries in future, but for now I have simply added a message for the unsupported browsers advising users to upgrade.

If you’re using an old version of Internet Explorer this would explain why it’s not working for you.

Same problem, but I don’t use Internet Explorer.

Tested on Linux latest versions of Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, and Windows version of Firefox.

    Presets page is always blank..

Tested on WP 4.6, 4.7, 4.. and 4.9, plugin version 1.1.9, 1.1.11 and the latest..

I think the problem is generally, not only on Internet Explorer 11..

    Hi @redblue81,

Thanks, that’s useful to know that it is not a Browser issue. I still can’t reproduce it at my end though (the plugin works fine for me) so if you could answer a couple more questions that might help us get to the bottom of it.

    * Are you upgrading from an older version of the plugin or have you newly installed it?
    * Are you able to add the plugin widget to a sidebar or is the widget also broken?
    * Do you know how to view either the Javascript console or PHP error logs and can you see any errors in them?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi,

I think I may have the fix, I’m having some trouble uploading it to the wordpress repository though so that might have to wait till later in the week.

I’ve put it on my own hosting though:

    http://www.don-benjamin.co.uk/files/wp-custom-fields-search.zip

Can you give that a try and see if it works?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi,

I think I may have the fix. Could you try this version of the plugin please:

    Thanks,

    Hi,

sorry, but same problem with this version..

    Hi there.

First off, thanks for your work on this great plugin!

I am experiencing the same issue with the blank presets page using the Chrome browser on Mac. Also, the shortcode [wp-custom-fields-search] is not working to display the search filters on my site.

I tried updating the plugin to the .zip file you posted on your personal site, but no dice.

Running WordPress 4.9.4 and all of my plugins are up to date.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi @redblue81, @evster, @shojikama,

I believe the latest release should fix the issue. Please let me know if you’re still experiencing problems.

As before, the more information the better, particularly if you know how to view either the Javascript console or PHP error logs I would interested to see any errors from in there.

    Thanks,
    Don

I’m having the same problem with the new version. The Configure page is completely blank. Error says: PHP Warning: array_key_exists() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in …/wp-content/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/search_form.php on line 25

Deactivated all plugins and still the same on all browsers.

    Hi @eventermom,

It looks like I fixed the issue with the 1.1.14 release then broke it again with the 1.2.2 one. Sorry about that. The latest version 1.2.3 should hopefully work, please let me know if not.

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi all.
Just updated to 1.2.3, but unfortunately all of my problems persist.

I have a blank plugin configuration page, and the shortcode still doesn’t work when I view the front-end of my site.

Don – Totally appreciate your work in trying to resolve these issues! Happy to test out another update if/when it’s available.

    Thanks!

    @evster,

Do you know how to check the javascript error console? If so there will probably be an error message in there that I can work from. If not that’s okay I will do some more cross-browser testing tomorrow.

    Thanks,
    Don
