When the filename is completely changed it make debugging difficult. Is there a way to insert part of the original filename into the renamed JS files?

afraid not, but when debugging you could add ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL to get the page un-optimized for that request, maybe that helps?

Could be helpful – not sure if it’s possible, but if it is, in a future release, I would like to suggest this feature. Thanks!

@awayshops Autoptimize retains the original query string, so you can append the file name (or other reference) in there. This can be useful for identifying the source file after Autoptimize has done it’s thing:

    home.css?ver=home becomes autoptimize_abc123.css?ver=home

The original file name is also set as the id attribute of the <script> tag.
