• I started with light version which doesnt allow for any ads. I upgraded to premium which is actually more expensive than they advertise.

The theme is not very good. Most widgets areas do not work properly. Errors show up on live site, images show up wrong, text covers images, looks ugly, not a lot of flexibility for customization, youre expected to make exact duplicate of demo, and do it on your own. The theme only provides widget areas for homepage only. I cant use any of it other pages, only one template that you use only once for homepage. Its been a nightmare trying to figure it out as the theme documentation is also incorrect. I had to hire 4 other web designers to figure it out and they couldnt fix it either. I wish I researched other theme websites and shopped around first.

The customer service is not good either. I asked them why the widgets were displaying info it wasnt supposed to on my live site and their answer was unprofessional, indicating that myself and the other designers I hired did not know anything or how to use WordPress.

I would never spend $70 on a worthless theme again. Next time I will find a better place and better theme.

  • Hi Paul,

thanks for leaving your feedback and we’re sorry that you’re not happy. Though, you writing this here just seems to be a way to let off steam since you’ve also signed up here only a few minutes ago in order to write this. It’s ok, we accept and respect your decision, although we think that it could have been handled better, especially since we offered already help to configure your website properly (more than once).

We encourage anyone who reads this to check out other feedback here on WordPress.org or on our website so that you can make your own unbiased impression about the things that have been said here.

Unfortunately many things you’ve said aren’t accurate and also not very polite after we’ve spend ages answering your support requests with long emails. We’ll go through some of your statements to put things straight:

light version which doesnt allow for any ads

That’s not correct. Of course you can place ads in the lite version as well. Ads can be placed via widgets and that’s what thousands of users of the free version do on their sites without issues.

which is actually more expensive than they advertise.

It seems you’re located in Canada and the payment was in your local currency. We hope you understand that there is a difference between USD and CAD. Just have a look at the exchange rate and you’ll notice that you’ve paid the correct price in USD.

Most widgets areas do not work properly.

We asked you various times via email to provide detailed feedback about what exactly you mean with that. Unfortunately you haven’t responded properly to those questions which makes it impossible for us to help you out. This theme is running without any issues on more than 40,000 websites and widget areas are working fine for other people. We encourage anyone to have a look at plenty of other users sites where you can verify this.

Errors show up on live site, images show up wrong, text covers images, looks ugly

We don’t know what you mean with that. We asked you already for detailed information as answer to your support request, but unfortunately you haven’t provided these details. Instead you decided to leave this feedback here.

not a lot of flexibility for customization

The flexibility is actually what most users love about the theme. Even the several demos already show that the theme can be configured in various different ways.

youre expected to make exact duplicate of demo, and do it on your own.

That’s not true. The demos are only suggestions to configure the theme as this makes it easy for people to get started (especially for beginners who are new to WordPress). Not everyone out there is a web designer. In general you can place the widgets as you like. There is no need to do it exactly as the demo.

The theme only provides widget areas for homepage only. I cant use any of it other pages, only one template that you use only once for homepage.

The theme works exactly as advertised and as shown in the demos. There is a widgetized front page template to build all kinds of layouts. In addition there are widget areas on other posts and pages to display widgets and ads (sidebar, above / below post / page content). That’s how magazine themes usually work.

Its been a nightmare trying to figure it out as the theme documentation is also incorrect.

Of course the documentation isn’t incorrect. Thousands of users are working with it day by day. Don’t you think it is in our best interest to provide a correct documentation? Providing an incorrect documentation doesn’t make any sense as a business because it leads to unnecessary support requests. This would be highly frustrating for the customer and for us. It’s the last thing we want…

The customer service is not good either.

This is actually what hurts most. We take customer support very seriously and we’re always happy to help. If you would look around a bit, you would notice that we even support free users here in a quick and helpful way – for free. The feedback from other users shows that pretty clear. We also answered your support requests thoroughly and within only a few hours. We asked you to provide detailed information about the things you mentioned in your request that weren’t clear. Again, instead of providing proper information so that we can help you, you decided to leave this feedback here. That’s your decision.

their answer was unprofessional, indicating that myself and the other designers I hired did not know anything or how to use WordPress.

You mentioned that you have several designers who couldn’t solve your issues. First of all, instead of hiring designers, you could just have sent a proper support request and we could have helped you out for free. At least that’s what most users do. But that isn’t the point.

If professional experts can’t figure out how to configure a theme or place a few widgets, while thousands of users (often beginners) don’t have issues with that, the experts possibly don’t have the advertised skills. We only informed you about the fact that unfortunately some businesses out there offer very low priced services as WordPress experts while not having the skills for that. This was an advice to protect you from wasting your money…

I would never spend $70 on a worthless theme again. Next time I will find a better place and better theme.

If you purchase a WordPress theme at a very reasonable price, don’t take the help from the developers and instead leave inaccurate feedback here, then it probably would be best if you don’t purchase anything at all. It’s hard to imagine that any other business would be glad to deal with things like this. But again, we respect your decision and maybe some day you realize that this could have been handled in a more reasonable way.

Today we spent again round about 30 minutes to answer your email while providing information in order to configure your theme properly. We also asked you again that you provide detailed information about the things that didn’t make sense. It’s up to you to respond to that email and take the help that has been offered. If not, then we wish you all the best and hopefully you’ll have a better experience next time!
