preg_replace: Compilation failed

  • Hi everybody,
like this old post my apache server show the error
PHP Warning: preg_replace(): Compilation failed: unknown option bit(s) set at offset 0 in /home/trebol-a/public_html/trebol-a.com/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 257

The server web is my own computer on home. I first updated the WordPress instalation (now running 3.3.1 version) and the problem continued.
after updated my php instalation from 5.3.5 to 5.3.8 the problems continued.

    What it is the problem?

The system is an opensuse 11.3, apache 2.2.13, php-5.3.8
The blog is running fine, but the apache error_log is full.

I have access to the entire server, any suggestions are wellcome…

    regards
